How To: 10 tips on making smaller spaces look and feel larger

1.  Use light colored paints on the walls

2.  Use mirrors to reflect the room. Mirrors open up the area,
place them near a window
if possible to reflect the light.

3.  Fewer furnishings-less is more.  Don't try and cram a full living room set in a tight space.  When your furniture has room to breathe and space around it, it will make the room feel more spread out.  Instead try using one large piece of furniture, like a comfy sofa or chase lounge chair.

4.  Create the illusion of height, whether it's a fun chandelier, a painted or textured ceiling, or a tall piece of furniture.  This will direct attention upward.
